Marcel Weber

 

??????????Prof. Weber received his first degree in molecular biology from the University of Basel (1987) and his Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Konstanz (1996). After a postdoc at the Minnesota Center for Philosophy of Science at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, he was lecturer at the Center for Philosophy and Ethics of Science (ZEWW) at the Leibniz University Hannover (1997-2003). From 2004-2009, Prof. Weber was Swiss National Science Foundation Professor at the Science Studies Program and Department of Philosophy, University of Basel. He also spent a term at the Max-Planck-Institute for the History of Science in Berlin and taught as visiting professor at the Institute for Philosophy at the Humboldt-University, Berlin and the Institute of Zoology, University of Zurich. From 2009-2011, he was Professor of Philosophy at the University of Konstanz. Prof. Weber is Editor of dialectica and Associate Editor of the British Journal for the Philosophy of Science, and, since 2012, a member of the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina.
